1 month in.

irish_stew_jan_2020_00012So it’s been a month since I started getting my backside into gear and shifting some of the weight that I’ve put on over the past few years. I must say I have been a little disappointed in myself. I find it unbelievable that I feel like I want this so much yet struggle most weeks to find motivation, last week in particular was an awful week, yes I made better choices than usual and yes it could have been a lot worse but the fact still stands that I want to be healthy and I may be a little impatient ok?

cropped-image-6.pngI really do want to get healthy and be able to keep up and go on walking adventures and everything else that comes with it, but I feel like there’s still something in the way. I just cannot put my finger on it. I mean how much more motivation do I need?!

Sound familiar? One bad week can knock your confidence and a shitty weight loss can cause a weekend full of binging. However, what matters and what I have learnt this month is that as long as I keep going, keep trying and keep moving things will happen.

That the little things matter

Those little bites that you don’t count matter, suddenly you can be 100 or 200 calories over your goal because you had a piece of cheese when you were cutting it, or you didn’t count that small handful of grapes you grabbed on the way through the kitchen.

People are wonderful

IMG_0989I have a magnificent support team around me and I am so very lucky. I have a wonderful partner who is eating everything I cook, counting his calories with me and checks me when my attitude gets out of line. I also have a wonderful trainer who helps me keep on track and gives me great snack ideas. I am very thankful for them.

Don’t be so hard on yourself

1 bad day is just that, 1. bad. day. Do not allow yourself to continue the pattern. Draw a line and move on. It has taken me a long time to learn this one.

What are some things that help you during your weight loss?

Let me know how you are getting on? I would love to hear your stories in the comments below.

Until next time.
