So if you have seen my previous Hygge post you will be aware that I recently created a Hygge box, which was all well and good but now I need to fill the thing. I spent quite a while researching what people put into their boxes and I couldn’t really find much that felt right for me, so I decided that I was going to take my limited knowledge of Hygge and get creative and this is what I ended up with.
I started with what I knew about a Hygge box and built it from there. I knew that in a hygge box I should have something that is cosy, sweet and makes me smile, however, I also wanted it to be something that I could turn to on a rainy day for something to do. The beauty of Hygge is that you put in your box what makes you smile and what gives you that “hygge” feeling.
I will link all of my items at the end.
Cosy. – I chose a funky pair of socks and my favourite candle that smells like rain.
There is nothing quite like the feeling of new socks and I really couldn’t have a hygge box without a candle now could I?! I love this pattern; it is bold and beautiful. The candle smells like rain and is without a doubt the best candle I have ever smelt.
I absolutely love this brand of candle, it is vegan and animal friendly, if you have a chance you can check them out here —>> https://harperscandles.com/product-category/fresh/only-for-show-fresh/rain/
Comfort – Chocolate and a choice of coffee or tea, don’t forget a good mug!
I took a long time in choosing the right, tea, mug, chocolate and coffee to go into my box as these are things that I can have anytime, however what I wanted to accomplish was the feeling of a little extra luxury and I pictured myself on a rainy day under a blanket with a book and thought what would I really want to have at that moment. These are incredible items and I get that Hygge feeling whenever I have them.
I want to give a special mention to the tea as this was my favourite tea and sadly M&S discontinued it. I am still a little bitter about it…
Rainy day items – a small 30 minute craft and a cross stitch
I love rainy day activities, I have many but these are two of my favourites and really don’t take very long at all. I chose a hedgehog butoonie and a bee cross stitch as they are two of my favourite animals/insects and I smile every time I see them.
Favourites – my favourite book and pictures of friends and family
This was quite difficult to narrow down but I decided on one of my favourite novellas, A Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss and a few of my favourite photos of friends and family. It is nice to look back on memories and see how far you have all come together. A perfect hygge activity.
Well that is everything, I adore my hygge box and I have made it perfect for me, this is the beauty of hygge, there is no one particular way to do things, it is up to the individual. Why don’t you give it a try and see for yourself!
What would you put in your hygge box? Let me know in the comments below!
Until next time.

The whole collect is just perfection! I am an avid fan but Auri is most definitely my favourite character!
I am so happy to find another Rothfuss fan on here!

Oh yes she’s wonderful! I was given the first book as a birthday present, I devoured the second, then discovered to my horror that the third one hadn’t been written yet. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too much longer!

That is the question we have all wondered for a very long time! Here’s hoping it’s soon.
