Have you ever just had the urge to be good at something that you are simply horrible at? Well, for me that is baking. I cannot bake, like, at all. I am nervous every time I come to try it, it is an art, and I am not an artist. I am too heavy handed and blasé about it all. So, this is it, I am determined to get this. By the end of the year I will be able to have at least one dish that I can bake well consistently.
So I am starting a review process. Every time I bake, I will photograph it, taste it, review it and correct my mistakes. Here are my notes.
The Attempt: Cheesecake
Recipe: https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/strawberry-cheesecake-4-easy-steps
Did I follow the recipe: I followed some of it, I decided to be a little experiemtnal
Texture: creamy with a good bite
Decoration: not needed, but I added a few strawberries to make it pretty
Taste: it was heaven! I am definitely doing this one again.

Notes:
I am a big fan of cheesecake, as long as they are vanilla with no puree. I like them plain basically. So I decided since I wasn’t going to be using the strawberry in the strawberry cheesecake, that I wouldn’t use digestive biscuits either. I went for something with a bit more flavour, I used Lotus Biscoff biscuits instead, and it was the best idea I have ever had. This recipe is creamy and luxurious, if you have a sweet tooth you will want to devour it in one sitting. Jon, who is not a fan of cheesecake, had more of this than I did, so a complete win for me! I guess I am becoming a fan of this baking thing…
How do you like your cheesecake? Tell me in the comments below!
